What's New in OllaCart: October 2026 Updates
October 8, 2026
Over the last two weeks we've shipped a run of updates to OllaCart, the universal shopping cart that keeps products from every store in one place. Most of them make the iPhone app and the mobile site faster and easier to use with one hand. A few make it clearer how buying works and how OllaCart makes money.
Here's everything that's new, in short:
- Drag to reorder your cart on your phone. Press and hold a product, move it, let go.
- Lists and categories in one swipeable row on every cart.
- Refresh a product from the store's page, and get AI suggestions to tidy up a messy listing.
- See who liked an item in your cart.
- Find people on Social from your phone, with search that shows only the people who match.
- Shopping Assistant picks show up on the first screen on phones.
- Buying always happens on the store's own site, at the store's price.
- A rewritten privacy policy that explains, in plain English, how OllaCart earns money.
Rearrange your cart on iPhone: press, hold, drag
You could always reorder products with a mouse, but on phones the cards wouldn't budge. Now they do. Press and hold any product for a moment, drag it where you want it, and let go. The cart scrolls when you drag near the top or bottom edge, and it shows where the product will land.
A quick swipe still scrolls and a tap still opens the product, so you won't move things by accident. Your order saves automatically and shows up the same on your computer.
Put the jacket you're about to buy at the top and the someday ideas at the bottom. Your cart becomes a ranked shortlist instead of a pile.
Lists and categories in one swipeable row
Every cart (your home cart, your Buy cart, shared carts and Social) now has one chip row for filtering:
- Lists (with a folder icon) are yours: "Apartment," "Birthday ideas," "Fall wardrobe."
- Categories (with a shapes icon) describe what a product is, like shoes or kitchen, across all your lists.
- On phones the row starts at the left edge, so nothing is hidden off-screen. Swipe for more, and tap + New to add a list or your own personal category.
It takes up less space than the old toolbars, and the same row works everywhere you shop in OllaCart. New to lists? Our guide to what a universal shopping cart is covers the basics.
Keep product details accurate: refresh from the store
Prices and photos change. Open any product you saved and tap Refresh from store page. OllaCart re-reads the retailer's page and updates the name, price, description and photos. Your lists, category and cart status stay put.
If a product came in with a cluttered title (think "NEW!! 2026 Women's Running Shoe Lightweight Breathable..."), tap Optimize with AI on your own items. You'll get a cleaner name, description and category to review, and nothing changes unless you tap Apply.
See who liked an item
When friends react to something you've shared, the product now shows a Liked by row of faces you can expand into the full list. When you ask "which one should I get?", you can see exactly who voted for what. We never show anyone's email address, only their name, username and photo.
Carts also use the same portrait photo tiles as the Social feed, so products are easier to scan at a glance. Read more about shopping with friends using shared carts.
Find people on Social from your phone
People search on the Social page now works on phones and in the app:
- The search box is there whether you're browsing everyone or just the people you follow.
- Results show only the people who match what you type.
- Each result is a full-width row: tap to open their shared cart, or follow them right there.
We also stopped iPhone from zooming in when you tap the search box.
Shopping Assistant: picks on the first screen
The Shopping Assistant compares products across retailers when you describe what you need ("a quiet carry-on under $200"). On phones, its picks used to start far down the page, below the intro and the briefing. Now the header is compact, the briefing is shortened to a few lines with Read more, and product picks start on the first screen. The next card peeks in so you know there's more to swipe through.
A smoother iPhone app
A handful of smaller fixes add up to an app that feels more native:
- The tab bar responds to hold-and-slide without stalling, and sits in a comfortable spot for your thumb on every iPhone size.
- Every page has the same spacing at the top, so nothing jumps as you switch tabs.
- One account, however you type your email. If your iPhone capitalized the first letter of your email address when you signed in, the app could create a separate account. Sign-in now matches emails regardless of capitalization, so the app and the website always open the same cart.
- Save from Safari in two taps. If you haven't yet, add OllaCart to your iPhone's Share menu: tap Share on any product page, swipe the row of app icons to the end, tap More, then Edit, tap the green + next to OllaCart, and tap Done. On iPhone, a tip on your home cart opens a step-by-step guide with pictures.
Don't have the app? Get OllaCart for iPhone, or add products from your computer with the OllaCart Chrome extension.
Buying happens on the store's site, at the store's price
We simplified checkout. When you tap Buy Now or Check out, OllaCart opens each product on the retailer's own website in its own tab. You pay the store directly, with its prices, shipping, returns and customer service. OllaCart never asks for your card number.
Some of those links are affiliate links: if you buy, the store may pay OllaCart a small commission, and you pay exactly the same price. Stores can't pay to get into your cart; everything in it is something you or someone you follow chose. If you share carts, you can earn a share of those commissions too. See how affiliate shopping works on OllaCart and our Affiliate Disclosure.
Our privacy policy, rewritten in plain English
We updated our Privacy Notice so it matches how OllaCart works today:
- OllaCart doesn't take payments or store card numbers. Purchases happen on the retailer's site.
- How we earn money is spelled out: affiliate commissions from retailers and affiliate networks, at no extra cost to you.
- What we keep to credit a commission: the click, and the network's purchase report (store, order amount, commission and a reference code). We never send your name, email address or cart contents to affiliate programs.
- No ad pixels, and we don't sell personal information.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reorder products in my OllaCart on iPhone?
Press and hold a product for a moment until it lifts, drag it to its new spot, and release. The new order saves automatically and syncs to the website.
Does OllaCart cost anything?
No. OllaCart is free. It earns a commission from some stores when you buy through its links, and you pay the store's normal price.
Where do I pay when I buy something I saved?
On the store's own website. OllaCart opens the product there, and you check out with the retailer.
Can I keep my saved products up to date?
Yes. Open a product and tap Refresh from store page to pull the latest price, photos and description from the retailer.
Why did I have two OllaCart accounts?
Before this update, signing in with a capitalized email (which iPhone keyboards often add automatically) could create a second account. Sign-in now ignores capitalization. If you still see two accounts, contact us and we'll merge them.
