How to earn affiliate revenue from Amazon
When someone buys from Amazon because you recommended it, you can get paid for it. There are two ways to do that: join Amazon's own affiliate program, or share Amazon products through OllaCart and earn on eligible purchases without applying anywhere.
Option 1: Apply to Amazon's affiliate program
Amazon's program runs through Amazon Associates (Amazon's in-house program).
- Sign up with the network or program and apply to Amazon.
- Describe where you'll promote it: a website, newsletter, YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Most programs review applications by hand.
- Once approved, generate tracked links for Amazon products and add them where your audience will see them.
- Disclose your affiliate relationship next to every link.
This route makes sense if you already have a site or audience. Programs can decline new or small publishers, and many have minimum payout thresholds.
Option 2: Share Amazon finds on OllaCart
OllaCart handles the affiliate side for you. You don't need a website or an approved account with Amazon.
- Save Amazon products you stand behind with the OllaCart extension or iOS app.
- Share your cart or a product link with friends, followers or your audience.
- Earn when they buy. Eligible purchases made through your share can pay you a share of the commission. Buyers pay the same price.
Is Amazon a good store to promote?
General merchandise programs pay different rates by product category, so the same sale can earn very different commissions depending on what's bought.
Plan around Amazon's sale calendar: Prime Day (summer), Prime Big Deal Days (October), Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Shoppers are already looking during these, and a shared cart of picks converts well.
Your audience keeps their Amazon Prime benefits, since they check out on amazon.com as usual.
Tips for earning more
- Recommend products you've actually used or researched; trust is what converts.
- Share a themed cart (a gift guide, a room, a routine) rather than single links.
- Time your shares for sales, when buyers are ready.
- Always disclose. It's required by the FTC and keeps your audience's trust.
Frequently asked questions
Does Amazon have an affiliate program?
Yes. Amazon's affiliate program runs through Amazon Associates (Amazon's in-house program). You apply, and Amazon decides whether to approve you.
How much can I earn from Amazon?
Commission rates are set by Amazon's program, vary by product category and change over time. Check the program's current terms before you promote anything. Through OllaCart, you earn a share of the commission on eligible purchases made through your shared links.
Can I earn from Amazon without a website?
Most affiliate programs want a website or an established audience before they approve you. With OllaCart you don't need one: save Amazon products, share your cart or a product link, and eligible purchases through it can earn you commission.
Do buyers pay more when they use my link?
No. Affiliate commission is paid by the retailer. The buyer pays the same price.
Do I have to disclose affiliate links?
Yes. In the US, the FTC requires you to clearly disclose when you can earn from a recommendation. A short, visible note such as "I earn a commission if you buy through this link" next to the link works.
